I had LASIK performed by Dr Oakman almost 2 years ago. I highly recommend Dr. Oakman and his assistants. I found them all to be caring and professional throughout the process. I found Dr. Oakman to be the kind of physician that takes the time to meet with his patients to get to know them and understand the need. I don't hesitate to recommend him as someone you can trust with your eyes.

Going to a doctor - or any type of medical specialist is not one of the favorite things that I do. However, I have been more than pleased with the excellent care and service that Dr. Oakman and the staff at Southern Eye Center have provided me time and time again. They always take the time to explain what's gong on, what they are going to treat the problem and then take care of it.
I have recommended Dr. Oakman and the fine folks at Southern Eye Center to a number of friends and they all have been very pleased with the care and concern shown to them by Dr. Oakman and his fine staff.

I was impressed with the thoroughness of Dr. Oakman during my last eye exam. He checked for things that most of my previous Eye Doctors don't take the time to check. He gave me recommendations for how I can better care for my eyes - diet, vitamins, etc. He worked with my insurance company to cover the exam. His staff was also very professional and I was very satisfied with my new eyeglasses and the helpfulness of the optician getting adjustments.
I highly recommend Dr. Oakman if you really care about your eyes. Don't leave your eyes in the hands of these 1 hour optical fly by night service providers who come and go. They may be OK for a replacement pair of glasses - but leave the exams to Dr. Oakman and get it done right the first time.
