Alex Friedman, PA-C joined Pacific Plastic Surgery Group in 2014. Alex grew up in the Bay Area and received his Bachelors of Science degree from University of California Davis. Alex then went on to earn his Master's of Physician Assistant degree from Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA which he completed in 2013.
Since 1984, Dr. Kabaker has been a fellowship director for fellowships in facial plastic surgery sponsored by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The present fellowship is co-directed by Dr. Corey Maas in San Francisco. The outstanding young physicians you meet who assist us in surgery have, as a minimum, completed a five-year residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, before they spend a year in this fellowship program where they observe, assist, and prepare the patient for surgery.

I wanted to leave an update to my previous review. I ended up getting rhinoplasty aka nose job that same year (August of 2015). Dr Kabaker is truly one of the best cosmetic/ plastic surgeons out there! He did such an incredible job on my nose! My nose was slightly crooked and had a jump on it. He straightened my nose out and got rid of the hump. Literally love looking at my nose in the mirror now lol! I'm so thankful that I found Dr. Kabaker and had him do my cosmetic surgeries before he retires! Thank you again, I love my forehead and nose! Have a great retirement!

Having to update my review because of the recent, less than satisfied procedures. was initially happy with the overall results from the 1st surgery but was told that i needed to return for scar revision in an area that didn't heal properly; $500 (alar base). i returned years later and was surprised to find that since i "waited" so long i would have to pay the much more increased price to have this corrected - fine; DONE! revision completed in Aug '15 and the area that was addressed actually healed worse than the 1st time around! the doctor attempted to correct this again in Dec '15 and i'm now left with (2) scars that are painful to look at each day and much more visible than the initial results. so unhappy, so dissatisfied!

Dr. Kabaker is fantastic. He and his staff were extremely accommodating when I was trying to make my decision about surgery. Day of, I went into the OR and before I knew it I was on the way home without any pain. During the healing process, he answered all of my post op questions personally. The scar healed so quickly that I could go out publicly (without a headband) as soon as the stitches were removed (I week post op). I cannot give him a better recommendation.

Dr k and his team are absolutely amazing. Super stress free keloid removal, handled it in and hour or so, his assistants kept it real and weren't giving me annoying doctor-y talk. Loved that. The woman at the front desk was super chatty, almost forgot I was about to have surgery. Everyone was awesome procedure was literally half the price they quoted me in San Francisco also! Yay for dr K & his squad of babes!

Dr. Kabaker is a talented, very caring facial plastic surgeon, and I've been referring patients to him for years. My co-worker and I go to see Rose. She's our "go to" for non-surgical cosmetic fixes, like fillers and botox. She's friendly, caring, and very good at what she does. Keep in mind, these procedures require regular maintenance, but can be life-changing by the way they improve your looks and how you feel about yourself.

This doctor told me that he couldn't improve the scar I had on the back of my head due to its relatively small size and shape. After explaining why, he referred me to a different doctor who specialized in a different technique. Throughout the consultation, he was educational, direct, and honest. Five stars for a trustworthy doctor. The building doesn't look super modern and it's in a neighborhood that borders a bad one.
Parking wasn't abundant at that time. I waited 20-25 minutes after my scheduled time. But all this is made up for with the doctor's honest approach and telling me why I needed to see a hair specialist who performed a certain procedure.

I will be more specific about my earlier review: I had a neck, lower face lift in 2012 from him. Fast forward to 2015. I am 54 years old and you could not tell that I had anything done. My neck still had the turkey thing going on. I went to two different surgeons to ask if there was a simple fix for my neck and they both said no. I would have to go through the entire procedure all over again.
I did speak to his office representatives and they suggested that I come back to his office as they wanted to help. I really don't see any way how or why I would go back to have him do something over again when he absolutely failed me the first time so what I did ask since the gals in the office told me, in fact they insisted that they wanted to help me.
I said if that is the case: You can refund what I paid you so I can pay for the surgery I have to have redone. They kept on telling me to come back into the office about 10 times and 10 more times I said no. They were talking to me as if I were an idiot and I was getting really annoyed. The surgeon that I chose to do my procedure is a professional so of course he didn't say anything bad about Dr Kabaker but he did say he has never had to do a second face lift on someone my age and I might as well do it now seeing it that I had invested so much money, time and pain and the effort in myself.
He even apologized that I had to go through this again. He did say that Kabaker did not cut the muscle under my chin so it wasn't done properly and it was like my skin just fell. I had the procedure last week and it looks like I have the neck of a twenty year old. This is how it should have been done the first time. It's too bad his office didn't do the right thing and reimburse me but people just don't have any morals these days.
I did get a ridiculous 'tweet' from him asking me to come to his office? I've used Twitter maybe twenty times in my life so I don't even get what that is about. Maybe trying to save face to the public. Well, the reality is I just pulled money out of my savings account that was ear marked for my retirement. So for any of you considering having him do this procedure for you, please do your due diligence.
His price was way lower than what I paid but you it was well worth paying more for my doctor in Pleasanton. Feel free to contact me if you want my doctor's name. He has also done my best friend's face lift.

After years of procrastinating, I finally decided to get my much needed facelift. I decided to have Dr. Kabaker perform the procedure due to his many years of experience, and affordable prices. I am a single mom in my early 40's. Before the facelift, I did not want to go out in the dating world due to my self consciousness regarding my jowls.
I felt I looked older than what I was. Anyways, about 6 weeks after the facelift, my swelling had gone down to where I felt comfortable posting to a dating website. By the way, I have rheumatoid arthritis. Even my rheumatologist mentioned what a good job Dr. Kabaker had done (she was against me getting cosmetic surgery), and that the facelift looked completely natural. I had the procedure in June 2014, met my special guy 7 weeks later, and now have Dr. Kabaker to thank for my now existant sex life! Thank you Dr. Kabaker!

So, Dr. kabaker is so talented and patient. I was frustrated a few times through the healing process, however it can take a long time and my end result is absolutely beautiful. I'm sure he is used to aprehensive unsure clients going through the healing process. His staff is professional and just lovely to work with. I went to Dr, Kabaker for chin augmentation surgery and was very pleased not only by the results but by my entire experience. The entire staff is very friendly, happy to answer any questions and extremely professional. Dr. Kabaker makes the entire experience the type where you have complete trust in him and his choices and abilities. The entire process can be nest described as "easy going". I gave no other doctor consideration for this surgery because I do not believe one can have a better experience. Thanks Dr. K and staff! JJK

After much contemplation I decided to have my upper lip augmented. I was waiting for a great implant to come about I've seen the old gortex implants which i felt were just unnatural feeling. I went to Dr. Kabaker and he was very honest and patient. He helped me decide on the permasoft implant. Everyone there including Joowon the nurse and Sondra are just awesome.
All of the risks and benefits were discussed with me. I love the result its natural and I dont even feel like I have an implant. Overall I am very happy with the result the procedure and everything before and after. I wish I could have more stars to give. Dr Kabaker is one the best surgeons out there he has tons of experience and it really shows. As a patient you have to research the procedure and be aware that with every surgery there are risks. I felt that I was allowed to make an educated decision with the honesty of Dr Kabaker.

I went to see Dr. Kabaker today for a consultation. He wasn't able to help with my main concern but I will definitely be back to see him for some other things. I found him to be VERY honest which is really important to me. He wasn't trying to sell me on anything I didn't need or want. He spent a great deal of time with me and showed me some photos and answered all my questions.
You would expect this same experience everywhere and yet more and more it is so hard to find. He's old school and not into all this newfangled stuff that is just nonsense (Smartlipo, thermage, etc.) He seems to like tried and true which is o.k. by me. Anyway, I found him to be very down to earth, a good listener, and very honest. I will return when I'm ready to pursue some other things. The staff was also excellent. Very personable and friendly. I felt very much at home in this office.

I have visited Dr. Kabakar over the years trying to decide about a face lift. He has always been patient, never pusing me into one surgery. He has been wonderful knowing my hesitation. On another occassion I had to have facial surgery due to an accident. I was taken in immediately and the surgery performed on the spot. Dr. Kabakar did a great job and you can hardly spot a scar. The office staff is great, efficient and helpful.
