We welcome you to our spacious office at 305 South Drive, Mountain View, across from El Camino Hospital. Look for the palm trees on your left as you come down South Drive. We have our own office operating room for minor procedures and SmartLipo liposuction under local anesthesia. He established his solo practice in 1988, and specializes in cosmetic plastic surgery. A leading plastic surgeon, Dr. Lowen is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. This review is for the initial complimentary consultation for tummy tuck. I had a virtual visit with Dr Lowen and I must say one of the best of all the appointments I have ever had. I had no Dr put in so much of his time and his patience even with all the technical glitches on my end. He was so thorough in explaining everything about the procedure.
His step by step explanation with screen share of pictures on his website, what would be expected pre, during and post procedure. Healing time post op 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks, 2 months, 3 months, everything explained pretty much layer by layer. I am so impressed. The quote and how that quote is determined. No hidden cost. He wasn't sugar coating about how my belly is.
I needed someone to tell me that I do need an invasive procedure with all that belly. This tele visit was really better than the other onsite consults I had. With my moderate budget, I am still exploring but I really wanted to write this review for the consult. Really good TeleMedicine manners.

The office has recently opened back up post Covid-19 shut down and I was able to get an appointment last week. Alice Tung the NP is amazing, honest, and professional. I live in Oakland and go all the way to Mountain View to see her. That right there should say it all! She is life changing. The office is clean and the staff is very professional. I appreciate the way Dr. Lowen is handling the post Covid-19 protocols.
He goes above and beyond to ensure not only his clients, but that he and his staff are safe. Marissa at the front desk also deserves 5 stars! She is very helpful and will walk you through any questions you may have.

This review is for Alice Tung, RN, Nurse Practitioner (though the entire Dr. Lowen's office gets five stars for sure!) I started seeing Alice more than a year ago for laser hair removal, then tattoo removal, did a few sessions of Emsculpt, and now I'm going to get more procedures done once the COVID-19 quarantine is over. I have to say I absolutely love Alice, and here is why: - she cares about both the results and the patient's comfort - she is a careful listener and always makes sure we set realistic expectations - she is very knowledgeable and always answers all questions in a polite but straightforward manner - she is very motivated, really loves what she does, never stops learning and always on top of new technologies, procedures, products - she never tries to sell me anything I don't need, but always ready to go an extra mile (e.g., when she does hair removal on one area, she can easily touch another area for no charge just because she spotted a hair that's not supposed to be there :) I am absolutely happy that I found Dr. Lowen's office and Alice, and I would recommend her to anyone!

I have been getting Filler injections for the last 10 years. Alice is one of the best injectors ever! I had a lot of volume loss in my face and Alice is so gentle I barely felt anything! I had a bunch of filler injected in my face and my hubby thinks I look 10 years younger. Truly amazing! Wish I met her 10 years ago!

I have had the best experience with the services I've received from this practice. Dr. Lowen and his staff are excellent, especially Alice who does my Botox and filler treatments and recently added their newly acquired state of the art laser to my treatment plan to help the Rosacea that's plagued me for 30 years. It's given my face a "lift" and greatly improved the texture of my skin, so much so that several people commented on how good I looked after my last treatment!
I followed Alice from another practice and it is a big trek to get to her now, but definitely worth the effort! I highly recommend Dr. Lowen and Alice to meet or exceed your esthetic desires!

This practice has been so good to me! Alice is the best, she understands my concerns and customizes my treatments to reach my desired result. Alice has truly been amazing on my journey of self preservation. I have visited many clinics (I've followed Alice around for a few years now) and I must say Dr. Lowen's practice has been my favorite.
Yes the staff is phenomenal and welcoming but most importantly this practice is not overpriced. Pricing is fair. I have seen inflation everywhere else I go, so getting the exact same treatment with a pro for a reasonable price makes this practice the best in the bay! Dr Lowen is an amazing Plastic Surgeon! He is meticulous and focused when doing his work. I researched scores of Surgeons and he was consistent and precise after a few consults. I almost don't want to share how great he is because he will get so busy and it will be harder for me to get in. But, I have to be honest and share his expertise so others can receive the benefit of looking the best that they can with a little help from this amazing Plastic Surgeon.

I went in to do my lips, eyes, and cheeks. Alice took 10 years off of me. I look natural and young. She has given me back the confidence that I had lost. About a month ago I made an appointment with Alice Tung, (referred by a friend) to get fillers and botox for the first time. I was nervous about the overall experience, and was skeptical about what I really wanted done. Alice made me feel so comfortable. She made me laugh and was very professional. Because I was so nervous. I asked her so many questions.
I really appreciated her taking the time to educate me on my options and what the process was. I wanted a product that was pure, so I went with xeomin. couldn't have asked for a better first experience- thanks to Alice! My sister recommended this clinic to me to get laser hair removal and I'm so happy this is my first experience with any aesthetic procedure. Everyone I've encountered here so far is super friendly and informative. Alice does my laser treatment and she makes sure I'm okay as she's doing my laser which is super comforting! You can tell she enjoys her job and cares about her patients, she's also super fun to talk to. I highly recommend this clinic for laser hair removal.

Dr. Lowen is an amazing surgeon! I was so nervous to have eyelid surgery but after having a consultation with him he made me feel relaxed and confident. It's only been 4 months since the surgery and I'm so happy and thankful for the amazing results! I never thought I could look so refreshed and awake. This review is for my consultation with Dr. Lowen only, since that's as far as I could proceed with what I wanted to get. I'm writing this in hindsight about 6 months after I met with him, and after finally getting the procedure that I wanted at a different clinic, so if you're interested in genioplasty and interested in my journey so far feel free to send me a message.
I found Dr. Lowen through an online search for cosmetic surgeons who perform sliding genioplasty, and when I called the clinic, the consultant told me that he does perform this procedure and set me up with an appointment. I do appreciate that Dr. Lowen's consultation is free. However, upon walking in to the small office I was immediately scrutinized by his frowning expression.
I told him that my recessed chin has been a life-long concern of mine, and I had done thorough research in my effort to finally do something about getting it corrected. His first question to me: "Is this some kind of Asian mental complex that you have?".like really? I felt insulted that he misinterpreted such a straightforward procedure and judged me for my race.
He spent some time asking if my friend and family would approve of this, and really harshly implying that I had some mental problem for wanting surgery. He also explained the risks both physically and mentally, which is fair, but then ended with the fact that he only performed this procedure on patients with "severe cases." If only he could have told me that from the beginning instead of spending the entire consultation making me feel uncomfortable.
In conclusion, I based my review on his manner during our consultation. Maybe he is good with other procedures and patients at a different age range, but personally I would not go to Dr. Lowen based on my experience.

So my first experience was pretty good. I had a consultation with Nicolle who seemed to have confidence in laser leg vein treatment. She required that I prepay for my treatment, then canceled my appointment just a few days ahead of time, without explanation. Friday, I went in and was given another nurse with no notice or explanation. I had this procedure done a long time ago and the nurse dimmed the lights, calibrated her laser to just what was required.
It didn't hurt and I left with no blisters, holes, scabs or scars. Today, was opposite in nearly every way. It was very painful and I originally had many blisters. The technician said she used the manufacturer recommendations for settings but had to adjust the machine 4 times during my procedure because she said the settings were changing without her input.
I did speak to Dr Lowen who assured me that my experience was perfectly normal and there was nothing wrong. My blisters had all popped shortly after my procedure and the first few showers were painful but now that I am covered in 60 plus scabs it's not so bad. I can't shave because of all of the scabs but that's not so bad since it's winter. Moral of the story, this laser will get rid of your veins but it's so powerful it will burn tiny holes into your body every time they pull the trigger.

Best injectables in San Francisco Bay Area! Alice Tung Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner is by far the best at injectables in San Francisco and surrounding area. Although her abilities are vast I go specifically for injectables. If you're in town "it's worth the trip". Alice is a joy. She is simply the best and most talented in her field, bar none!
Her focus is providing you with the best outcome that meets your needs, and not the needs of a bottom line. My goal is to refresh my appearance (50ish) without looking as though I had a lot of work done (Although I don't rule surgery out someday). I don't benefit from writing the review in any way other than sharing what a talent Alice is in her field.
In addition to her capabilities; Alice is a very charming and caring person. She makes her clients the top priority, and that is difficult to find in any field. I would follow her anywhere. She's simply the BEST!

This is a somewhat late review, from a procedure I had done about a month ago. For eight years I had a lipoma on the inside of my right thigh. It wasn't obvious in loose pants but if I was in shorts or a bathing suit I was self conscious and couldn't fully enjoy myself because I didn't want to bend a certain way and have people see it, ask questions, etc.
I was embarrassed, even with my husband. who had obviously seen it many times. I finally decided to seriously consider removal and I found Dr Lowen, who uses an amazing method for removal that isn't done anywhere else. His method of using liposuction to break up the lipoma and then pull out leaves a tiny scar from the probe, rather than a huge cut (read: scar) the entire length of the lipoma.
The cost of the procedure was much less than I was expecting and the care I received was amazing. Dr. Lowen is a straight shooter (do you want lies and fluff when someone is working on your aesthetics?) He is very up-front and honest and will give you the best recommendation possible to give you the results you are really looking for. The women in his office are amazingly nice and polite and accommodating.
I mostly interfaced with his assistant V, who was always in the room during our visits. She helped me so much with my anxiety the day of the procedure by just talking to me and getting my mind off of it. I'm about a month and a half post-procedure and I am so thrilled with the healing. Recovery was fast and I really had no pain. I had some minor tenderness, which is to be expected but I never needed to fill the pain killer prescription he gave me. I took Ibuprofen the first day and never needed to take anything again. I am looking forward to getting more work done from Dr Lowen soon.

I had a TT and BA 6 days ago and I can't even begin to explain how awesome Dr. lowen and his whole team are! I feel great, no nausea after waking up, he checked in on me every day for 3 days. My TT was drainless which is amazing, after caring for someone who had the drains and the hassle I was so happy to not have to deal with those! My recovery has been a piece of cake, if I could give Dr. lowen 20 stars I would! Some how I forgot to mention how AWESOME the office staff is! I love this man he works wonders, I have had a breast augmentation as well as lipo done with him. My scaring is so minimal that I have to search for the scars. I have referred many friends to him and they have all had wonderful results from him. I went in wanting a large implant and he suggested a smaller one based on my body size, he was actually right.
I have also had c20 laser done with him also as well as Botox, fillers and photo facial. I would totally recommend his practice because the staff is great and the Dr is awesome, Plus it's a really nice office.
