In the late 1990's when Dr. Taylor was still practicing in NYC, she helped me to get rid of a 25 year old case of "Athletes Feet" which had caused unsightly discoloration and thickness to all of the nails on my left foot along with the usual cracking of the skin between the toes and skin on my heel. I must admit that the oral (tablets) prescription medication she recommended was super expensive (at the time - around $700.00) but after about 4 months of my nails growing out I started to notice the beginning of beautiful pink flesh colored nails and far less cracked skin on my entire left foot.
Because it takes longer for toe nails to grow than finger nails, it took another several months for my foot to complete heal. In short, I will forever be grateful to Dr. Tayor for her help and medical guidance.

By far the worst provider office staff.was never told Dr. Taylor only does telemedicine appts for new patients at time of scheduling. Set an appt with her to see her in office 3 months out. Called cause I never wrote down the time only to find out I was moved to another Doctor without my consent. Was told this information was given at time of my original call. She maybe a great Doctor however patient care starts at the moment you call for a appointment and staffs incompetence is not the patient's fault.

I absolutely love Dr. Taylor. I was recommended to her by my primary and couldn't be happier. Her staff is amazing and very nice. I never felt as though I was being rushed through an appointment. Each visit Dr. Taylor took her time to talk to me and explain what was happening with my skin. She has given me back my confidence and made living with rosacea easy. I would recommend her office to anyone.

I have been a patient of Dr. Taylor for many years and have always been pleased with her professionalism, thoroughness and pleasant demeanor. She has impeccable credentials and has been voted one of Philadelphia's "Top Docs". I actually credit her with saving my life as she had a mole biopsied that was initially reported by the biopsy reader as benign but Dr. Taylor was unconvinced, ordered another biopsy and the mole proved to be a melanoma (which was then successfully removed).
I noted that some reviews felt she did not spend enough time with patients but it seems to me that with her experience she can generally assess and diagnose most patients rather quickly. Office waiting time can be an issue, but it seems a reasonable tradeoff for the quality of care she provides.

I have been seeing Dr. Taylor about a year now. My acne has cleared up wonderfully. I had been going to Jefferson Dermatology for years, and none of their treatments worked. Dr. Taylor is very knowledgeable about skin care, and has always been professional. She takes the time to listen to any concerns I have concerning my skin. I feel more confident about my looks now that my skin has cleared up. I have never had any issues during any of my visits to Dr. Taylor's office. The staff is always courteous, helpful and professional!

I totally agree with the majority of the comments. When first I saw Dr. Taylor her bedside manner was less than horrible, she spent all of 5 minutes with me she explained nothing she just starting reciting drugs to her assistant so that she can prepare prescriptions for me (which were very expensive because there was no generic available at that time).
After which she said as she was walking out the door "schedule an appt. to see the Nurse Practitioner in two weeks". I never experienced anything like that therefore when I got home I wrote her a letter which I mailed to her office upon receiving my letter she called me at home one evening very apologetic she said she wanted to see me on my next appt. which she did and she explained everything as well as answered my questions. However, it appears that it's her practice to treat her patients in that manner.
I must say that I continue to see Dr. Taylor for my dermatology needs because she is an amazing doctor. I've had acne all my life and cured it. If you're not a current patient read the reviews and make your decision wisely. Good Luck!

I'd like to start off by saying this review is long overdue! I absolutely LOVE Susan Taylor. MY son was mis- diagnosed by a local dermatology office. By the time we found Dr. Taylor he was balding and in a great deal of pain due to a scalp issues and wrong treatment. Within 5 minutes of our visit.she was pretty sure she knew what he had. She performed numerous tests on him and after a positive confirmation.prescribed the appropriate medication and treatment.
Within a month his scalp was 100% healthier and we began to see hair growth. She always took her time to answer all our questions. I never felt rushed. She was so compassionate about diagnosing and treating my son properly. Had we not found her my son would have been bald and scarred for life due to the wrong treatment we received prior finding her. She is a life saver in my eyes! We can't thank Dr. Susan Taylor enough~

I have been to Dr. Taylor's office a few times. Once I was seen by the nurse practitioner who removed a suspicious node from my arm pit. I didn't think that it was dermatological but every doctor I saw said that it was. The service was good. I took my daughter to see her about a skin condition. Dr. Taylor was a gem as she patiently explained the biopsy process she was going to do on my daughter.
She even gave me a cold cloth and helped me put my feet up when I felt faint from watching the process. She was genuine, caring and did not rush us. I will say that her office is overly crowded, as are all African-American dermatology practices that I have been to in Philadelphia.

I've read the other comments, and I'm truly sorry that so many have had a bad experience with Dr. Taylor. I have seen her twice, both times to review my moles for any that look irregular. In both visits I found her to be kind and attentive. In the last visit she removed a suspicious mole from my arm and used the lightest touch with her scapel. She did a great job.
I did not mind the wait in the waiting room because I'm so used to that in doctor's offices. They have a hard time managing their time. That is why she has the two (was it three?) topics limit, so that she can get to all her patients. The cosmetic part of her practice I think is pretty typical because there's lots of money in that line of business, but she still has a doctor's knowledge & skills.
