Microtia refers to the condition of an underdeveloped ear; the Institute specializes in assisting patients with microtia conditions and has pioneered reconstructive surgery techniques in this area. The ear deformity of congenital microtia is typically associated with congenital atresia, an affliction that can cause devastating physical and psychological trauma in children.
Otoplasty is focused on correcting a deformity associated with the ear or making it more cosmetically appealing. For most patients interested in otoplasty, a surgeon will first take a comprehensive medical history that includes notation of any birth defects or hereditary conditions that may affect the child's (or an adult's) growth.
Deformities in infants can be corrected via non-surgical molding techniques, provided the treatment is started in the days after birth. We are able to correct several deformities of the ear in infants by non-surgical molding techniques. If one sees that all parts of the ear are present, non-surgical molding procedures can be considered.
Revision rhinoplasty refers to a second or third operation that a person may have on his/her nose. There are many reasons people may have multiple operations. For example, the person may be unhappy with the results of the first operation. In another example, the person may have incurred an injury since the first operation resulting in damage to the nose and need another operation. Whatever the reason, revision rhinoplasty needs to be approached with care. A second or third operation on the nose is more difficult.

I had cancer on my lip and in the corner of my mouth Dr. Ruder removed the cancer 10 days ago and it looks as if I never had cancer on my lip and mouth. He removed all the cancer and as important as the cancer was to me so was the reconstruction part of the operation. He was fantastic. The Dr. totally explained all aspects prior to during and after surgery. The doctors staff are all very nice and friendly. I can highly recommend Dr Ruder as a fine E N T and a Picasso of Reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Ruder's office took a last minute appointment for my wife who had developed severe pain symptoms in her neck which needed a) immediate assessment and b) immediate treatment. His staff and office were friendly and accessible. More importantly, Dr. Ruder took my wife's history, showed appropriate empathy, and provided effective treatment injections into trigger points that resulted in immediate improvements in my wife's pain.
While this treatment was not the focus of his particular specialty, he acted because my wife was in severe pain and needed help. Dr. Ruder was completely professional in advising us of our options and directing us to a sub-specialist for follow up. The main thing we liked about Dr. Ruder was that he treated my wife in a holistic and humanistic manner.
I propose that most physicians in this situation would have said, 'lady, you have a real problem here and you need to find a neck specialist on Monday when their office will opens.' I'll take Dr. Ruder anytime.
