Each individual's eyelids has their own unique presentation of single eyelid without crease, variable amount of fat, skin, asymmetry and difference in eyelid opening sizes. We seek to balance these in the best possible way to create a natural look comparable to a natural born double eyelid crease. The eyelid crease is a very delicate structure in that the correct position and function of it are interrelated to its form and attractiveness. Let us elaborate on this: The eyelid crease as seen by us is both a landmark to which our eyelid opening muscle--the elevating levator--attaches to and ends at, its location gives the eye opening its proportion and aesthetics. It just happens that this is also the location where eye surgeons would enter and exit the eyelid; it is in essence a portal or entry-exit point.
It's clear that your eyelids and eyes are very central to your appearance. Asians are unique in that their facial shape, the eyes, nose and overall sizes tends to be different from Caucasians. Approximately 50 percent of all Asians are born with the "Single eyelid" type, namely without an upper eyelid crease, while the rest are born with an upper lid crease.

Exceptional surgeon! After extensive research my fiancee and I decided that Dr. Chen was the perfect surgeon to do her double eyelid surgery. We're extremely glad we picked Dr. Chen. He has an amazing staff, takes his time when he talks to you at the office, showed a lot of compassion, and most important he's amazing at what he does. It's been over a year now and all I can say is my fiancee is extremely happy with her new eyelids!
She's simply gorgeous now and I love everything Dr. Chen has done for her. No more listening to her complain about her eyelids lol! She told me she should have done this years ago. Anyways if you're thinking about getting your eyes done don't hesitate. Dr. Chen will take care of you.

I learned how to perform double eyelid surgery reading articles but mostly from reading Dr Chen's book on double eyelid surgery. I n my opinion, he is considered one of the experts in this surgery. So when I needed upper eyelid surgery, my only choice was Dr Chen. I have done many cases of double eyelid surgery and consider myself quite proficient.
But his level of expertise is on a completely different level. Since I knew he was the expert, I just let him know what I wanted and left the rest to him. Kind of like going to a great restaurant. You tell the chef what you want but definitely are not going to tell him how to cook. The initial evaluation and preop visits were easy and uneventful. The surgery was easy.
Even with local anesthesia and oral sedation, quite frankly I didn't feel much and it was great experience. Postop he managed many usual postop issues with great ease and confidence. I had a great result and could not be happier. Take it from an another surgeon, he is the best. You are not going to see fancy website, social media, fast/smooth talking doctor BUT remember what matters the most. The experience and the skill of the doctor. Simply the best, a surgeon's surgeon.

My double eyelid surgery results are excellent. I knew he was the surgeon for me when I first met him because he answered all my questions with technical details. Also, this is his specialty and I liked that he did not do anything except work with the eyes. After my surgery, he was responsive to all my inquiries and worry. I've been very pleased with Dr. Chen from the first consult to the last follow-up appointment. My eyes look natural - the exact results I was looking for.

I had wonderful results with the double eyelid procedure that Dr. Chen performed for me. I saw my mother about a week and a half after the surgery, which I did not tell her about, and she could not figure out why I looked so good. After I told her, she examined my eyes closely, and was amazed at what a good job Dr Chen had done. I also appreciated that Dr. Chen took the time to answer all my questions before and after the surgery, and promptly responded to emails and texts. His staff was also terrific.
