Because of his extensive surgical training, Dr. Barnthouse is uniquely qualified as a specialist in Plastic Surgery. He is one of the elite few physicians with additional training specializing in cosmetic and breast surgery, and is known for his talented surgical ability and expertise in handling difficult cases.
In order to give you ample time in individual consultation, we prefer to work by appointment. If you have an urgent need during office hours, however, please call. Barnthouse is so down to earth and always has the patient's best interest at heart, he did an awesome job on my breast reduction and I am so satisfied with the results! Firstly, the office staff is the MOST efficient I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They are precise, accurate, they literally do everything flawlessly. I had researched surgeons for quite some time before my procedure because I wanted it to be absolutely perfect. He was always on the top 10 list so I did a little more research and looked at his photos which I was very impressed with.
I was pregnant but knew I wanted to consult as soon as I could. Originally, he was booked out until November of 2022 which wouldn't have worked at all, so I was super bummed but Wendy (she is a literal angel) said to save the office number because when they get cancellations they go down the list and offer the next available. I was two weeks post partum and a number I didn't recognize came up but looked familiar( I didn't save it in my phone of course) I don't usually answer numbers I don't know but I did for some reason.
Low and behold it was Wendy and she said they had a cancellation for a consult for March 14th. This was a week away, of course I was ecstatic and immediately took the spot. I got to the office which is prestine, and lovely. I spoke with Dr. Barnthouse for about 2 hours as he went far in depth of the procedure, how he was doing what, etc.right down to it, by the end I couldn't think of one single question to ask as he had covered everything.
He even draws diagrams based on your body type on paper to physically show you what he does which is great to see. After the consult I was sure he was the one. Well they didn't think it hey had any dates open until August which would have been terrible timing as we have a vacation, kids starting school, etc. so again, I was bummed. I decided I wanted him to matter what so I would just have it when I could so I called the office to pay the deposit and she actually told me they had an opening for MAY 31st!
I couldn't believe it, perfect timing and k would be mostly healed by summer. It was a little sooner than we planned for but we made it work and I am so grateful to Dr. Barnthouse and his impeccable office staff. They truly gave me my life back after being so unhappy for so many years

AMAZING! Him, Wendy, the surgical staff; everyone I dealt with was absolutely AMAZING! Dr. Barnthouse is so professional and caring. I was so impressed with the care I was given. The staff are so wonderful. From the first visit to every follow-up after my surgery they were so attentive to my healing. I highly recommend them to anyone thinking of having plastic surgery or reconstructive surgery.

Would not recommend. Pre-op was great. Dr. took a lot of time to explain the procedure. Which was why I chose him because he seemed very knowledgeable and confident. Post-op was the problem. There was no bedside manner, never saw him while in recovery before leaving. It was very obvious I was not healing correctly and my concerns were not taken seriously.
I was told to "give it time to heal" even though I was several weeks out and should be returning to semi-normal activity. There was no compassion from your office. 15 months later and still just as uncomfortable and was not given any help to fix it when I returned for an opinion. Everything "looks normal" to him when it clearly is not. Referred on to another doctor and no request to stay in the loop for results from further testing I will need to do to figure out the issue. Overall I found him to be "old and cold."

Everything that I discovered online and in conversations with local providers (I'm a provider myself) and friends turned out to be true about Dr. Barnthouse! In addition to his ability to really listen and understand what I was asking for, he and his staff are incredibly friendly, light-hearted and exceptionally organized.

Ease of scheduling, methodical pre-op instructions with pre-filled meds, the surgery center and the day of surgery were outstanding, and follow-up was timely and personalized. Dr. Barnthouse is a gift to the KC community! Do not hesitate to set up a consultation. He's so sought after that I had to wait nearly 4 months. Turns out he is well worth the wait!

I highly recommend Dr. Barnthouse! He has an excellent bedside manner, he was very thorough in explaining every step of the process, and he created a very comforting atmosphere. His staff, Wendy and Adrienne are absolutely wonderful as well! My surgery went very well as well as my recovery! Although I am not completely healed my results are amazing, I am very happy with the procedure!

He's an amazing Doctor! He did my breast augmentation almost 10 years ago and then did my abdominal plasty a few months and I couldn't be happier with his work. I did a lot of research before I found him and he's worth! I have other friends and family that have gotten surgery done with other doctors and they love my results better than theirs. He's definitely worth a consultation!

It was a great experience! A cash up front procedures of my Mommy make over was exciting and fearful. I am so happy with my out come. It has been 8 months and I have no disappointment. Dr. Barnthouse was referred to me by a colleague who had wonderful things to say about him. I went to my consultation with the idea that I knew what I needed and he quickly disabused me of that notion! He does not believe in doing unnecessary procedures and understood that anything that was done had to look natural. I didn't want to be the woman walking down the street that you would see and know I saw a plastic surgeon.
We decided on which procedures to do, scheduled it and I am now 3 weeks post op. My experience has been very good. I am in the healthcare profession and I can tell when someone is knowledgeable and skilled. Dr. Barnthouse is very meticulous in his work and it shows. I have referred 2 more colleagues to him because I trust that he will give them the same respect and expertise that he gave me. I am delighted with my new look and while still recovering, am looking forward to showing it off!
