Dr. Miller's great great uncle Dr. James Gordon Baird was the first in the long line of related Riverside physicians. Dr. Baird was a General Practitioner (GP) starting his Riverside practice in the 1870s. He would gain great prominence in the community, serving as President of the Medical Staff at Riverside Community Hospital and was also President of the Riverside County Medical Association (RCMA) in 1899.

During an eye exam, we'll do a comprehensive examination of your eyes. We'll test your visual acuity, as well as check for any refractive errors and developing eye diseases. Big shout out to the wonderful ladies in the optical shop. I had a flight to catch today and my glasses broke a couple of hours before I had to leave. While they will need to be replaced, the ladies did everything they could to repair them well enough to last until I can get back to pick up my new frames. Really wonderful service no matter how busy they get. This pair of ladies provide customer service at its very best.

Not happy. I'm sitting in their waiting room just to see a helper not the doc. My appointment was over an hour ago. So annoying. Also you cannot create appts on the same day to see doctor and OD. So annoying Their separate biz for glasses mixed up my lenses and tried to tell me that I just wasn't used to them yet

This is where we come whenever we need anything pertaining to our eyes, I had a little bacteria infection in my eye and these folks took care of it in a very professional courteous and safe manner, my wife also where is prescription glasses and this is where she gets all of her prescription glasses needs taken care of. They are really good people here give them a try. Shop local, buy local, spend local.

Riverside eye specialist on brockton ave is a excellent place to go for your eye care needs. We have had the pleasure of having Dr John Allavie as our eye specialist for years. I just had cataract surgery in my left eye this month. I have to say that Dr Allavie is a excellent surgeon. In my opinion one the best in the inland empire. The staff is very friendly.
I am so please that I am having my right eye done next month. After surgery I can now see perfectly in my left eye. I just had my right eye done this month and its also as great as my left. I would recommend everyone to go here for there eye care needs. A special thanks to Becky for her personal care and answers all of my questions and gives us a great experience. UPDATE> I just got my new prescription for new glasses and pick my glasses Thursday the 16th of January.

The VA hospital sent my dad here because they couldn't get him a timely appointment with them, he is 100% disabled through the VA. He got his eye exam and then the eye glass center told him it would be $25 for them to measure his PD number. It literally takes 1 min and a ruler. I guess that is how they thank our Veterans. I'll never let him buy glasses there. Went to Americas Best Glasses and they did it for free and we didn't even get his exam there, but I did get mine there! They were great!

I have had Contracts removed on both of my eyes by Dr. Allavie and can only extend my gratitude and appreciation for not only his professionalism, consideration of his patients concerns, willingness to answer any and all questions but for his real interest in making sure that his patient is comfortable with the procedure. He also extended this same type of treatment when my mother, who had already lost the sight of one eye, was past ninety years of age, had to be prepared to be totally blind for 24 hours as she was concerned about loosing the sight of her only good eye.
If I was asked to rate Dr. Allavie from one to ten being the very best, my husband and myself would rate him a 10+. Would highly recommend him and his very professional and caring staff. Joan & Lloyd McDaniel

I have had glaucoma for over 40 years. Dr. Allavie has given me excellent care in controlling my pressure and suggesting surgery when it was needed. I have great confidence in his office staff and his continuing care. My husband's cataract surgery was so successful that he has scheduled his 2nd next month.
