Many vision problems are treatable in children if diagnosed at an early age. With this in mind, appropriate eye screenings are essential to the overall development of children. It is very important that newborns are screened at birth for any eye disorders and diseases, which may be congenital. This is typically done by the pediatrician.

Indifferent on how to rate- Dr Wexler is always so pleasant with her adolescent patients. However, our appointment was for 1240pm and we were not seen by her until 137pm. Which I understand things happen, however, no mention or apology for keeping us waiting for 1 hour is a bit unnerving. Not sure why this would be considered acceptable behavior and to not at least give a half hearted "sorry to have kept you waiting"

Used to be a patient of SJE for years and that ended today. Called to confirm that they participate in a vision program thru MetLife since my insurance changed and their practice is listed on MetLife's website as a provider. The girl on the phone says "MetLife is for dental only so we wouldn't be participating in that or any discounts from them." I said no.
I have the info from my employer in front of me it's for vision too and I just saw your name on their website. She again said no and offered no other assistance. So after being very confused I called another practice nearby that was supposed to be a participating provider. Even tho that person was unsure about MetLife as well they were able to look into it and make me an appointment. Now it's clear South Jersey Eye employs people who aren't knowledgeable at all or who won't go the extra mile to help their patients.

Dr. Putnam and the girls were fantastic. I would highly recommend them. However, I went in thinking I would get glasses and the optical people were not as helpful. I felt I was bothering the girl. In the past they were super helpful and today I felt intrusive. I did ask about price so maybe she assumed I might not buy but no effort was put in to explain or even help me. Not good customer service.
